Triumph Spitfire & Dolomite manifolds are very prone to corrosion & fracture of the water pipe stubs, due to the electrolyte reaction between the alloy of the manifold and steel of the pipes. These manifolds are built with polished stainless water stub pipes to eliminate this problem. The unit is then shot-peened and the mating faces resurfaced.
