ALL NEWISH TYRES OF QUALITY BRAND

SPARE WHEEL NOT PRESENT

JACKING EQUIPMENT NOT PRESENT

INTERIOR

Condition Seat Covers & Internal Fittings SEATS ARE TIRED, RUNNERS HAVE BEEN REWORKED BUT COVERS AND PRESUMABLY FOAMS NEED ATTENTION. DIAPHRAMS HAVE BEEN REPLACED

Hood Type & Condition THE CAR IS FITTED WITH WHAT WE GUESS TO BE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY HOOD. IT FITS WELL BUT IS SLIGHTLY TIRED & SUFFERS FROM OPAQUENESS IN PLASTIC WINDOWS – THIS IS PARTICULARLY RELEVENT AS THE VEHICLE IS NOT FITTED WITH ANY EXTERNAL MIRRORS

Seatbelt Condition & Operation CAR IS FITTED WITH 1960S TYPE AIRCRAFT BELTS WHICH WE DO NOT BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL AND ARE CERTAINLY NOT AS SAFE IN AN ACCIDENT AS MODERN BELTS – MOST CARS HAVE HAD MODERN TYPE BELTS RETRO FITTED

THE INTERIOR IS (ALTHOUGH NOT EXACTLY SCRUFFY) NOT IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGH STANDARD OF THE REST OF THIS CAR. THE CARPET SET, ALTHOUGH NEW, IS A POOR FIT, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BENEFIT FROM RENOVATION OR REPLACEMENT AND MANY OF THE TRIM PIECES LET THE GENERAL HIGH STANDARD OF THE CAR DOWN

SOME NEW PIECES OF BOOT INTERNAL TRIM HAD BEEN POSITIONED BUT NOT PROPERLY SECURED IN PLACE

EXTERNAL FIXTURES & FITTINGS

Bumpers BUMPERS ARE RECHROMED RATHER THAN NEW EXAMPLES AND THUS DISPLAY TYPICAL YELLOW TINGE. HOWEVER ALL IN GOOD UNDISTORTED ORDER

Chrome & Brightwork AS ABOVE

Other Fittings VEHICLE IS MISSING FRONT AIR INTAKE COVER (WHICH OWNER STATES HE WILL SUPPLY ON SALE)

ALSO MISSING REAR PLATE LAMP MARQUE BADGE

VEHICLE PAINT & BODY CONDITION

Quality Of Original Paint/Quality Of Respray RESPRAY APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT RECENTLY OR ALTERNATIVELY THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN USED MUCH SINCE THE WORK WAS PERFORMED (THE OWNER CLAIMS THAT THE SECOND OPTION IS CORRECT). THE PAINT IS OF A HIGH STANDARD WITH VERY LITTLE EVIDENCE OF FILLER USED AND WAS DONE AS A FULL STRIP AND REFIT RATHER THAN MASK-UP.

IN PLACES LESS APPARENT THERE IS SOME EVIDENCE OF POOR FINAL FINISH PREPARATION, MOST NOTABLE BEING RUNS IN REAR VALENCE BEHIND BUMPER

SOME CHIPS AND DAMAGE HAS BEEN SUSTAINED SINCE RESPRAY (MORE NOTICEABLE ONES BEING: OS/R SILL, SLIGHT CREASE TO O/S/F WING, CHIP TO N/S/R WING, CREASING TO O/S DOOR BOTTOM)

Panel Alignment THE PANEL ALIGNMENT IS GENERALLY VERY GOOD, PARTICULARLY IN THE REAR VALENCE AREA AND SCREEN FRAME WHICH IS PROBLEMATIC ON THESE CARS.

HOWEVER THE DOOR GAPPING IS (ALTHOUGH NOT POOR AND BETTER THAN MANY EXAMPLES WE HAVE SEEN) NOT AS GOOD AS THE REST OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON TR6 PROBLEM WHICH CAN OFTEN BE IMPROVED BY FETTLING OF SHUT AND LATCH MECHANISMS, BUT IN THIS INSTANCE CLOSE INSPECTION REVEALS THAT SOME TIME AND EFFORT HAS ALREADY BEEN SPENT ON RE-FETTLING IN THIS AREA AND THUS THIS GAPPING IS AS GOOD AS IT IS GOING TO BE WITHOUT THE MAJOR EXPENSE OF SILL AND JIG WORK

Exterior Body Condition – Dents, Scratches SEE ABOVE

Panel Cohesion THE GENERALLY HIGH STANDARD OF THE CAR IS LET DOWN IN THIS AREA, IN PARTICULAR THERE IS EVIDENCE OF CRACKING MASTIC TO O/S/F WING AND N/S/R WING – OTHER PLACES WHERE MASTIC AND OTHER BONDING/SEALING MATERIALS HAVE BEEN USED ARE LIKELY TO BE NOT FAR BEHIND IN DETERIORATION

Evidence Of Impact Damage SEE ABOVE

Glazing OK

Further Comments

THERE IS EVIDENCE OF LIBERAL APPLICATION OF WAXOYL OR SIMILAR RUST PREVENTATIVE MEASURES WHERE DESIREABLE

VEHICLE DOCUMENTATION

Matching Numbers YES, ALTHOUGH CHASSIS PLATE WAS NOT ATTACHED TO VEHICLE BUT WAS PRODUCED BY OWNER ON REQUEST. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS IS IMPARTED TO A NEW OWNER UPON SALE

Evidence Of Timely & Comprehensive Maintence OK

Full Proof Of Historical Mileage Details NOT SUPPLIED

Previous Ownership Details As Referenced By Logbook OK

FURTHER COMMENTS

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AT THE OWNERS RESIDENCE, AND PRE INSPECTION DISCUSSIONS WITH THE OWNER REVEALED HIM TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS ALWAYS A GOOD SIGN.

THE VENDER ALLOWED US FULL ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE AND RAISED NO QUALMS ABOUT US HANDLING THE CAR AND THE SMALL AMOUNT OF DISMANTLING AND JACKING OF THE CAR REQUIRED FOR US TO PERFORM THE INSPECTION

WE WERE ALSO PLEASED TO NOTE THAT NO EFFORT HAD BEEN MADE TO "PREPARE" THE CAR FOR OUR ARRIVAL, EG THE ENGINE HAD NOT BEEN PRE RUN (FOR EASIER STARTING AND LACK OF SMOKE) BEFORE OUR ARRIVAL

THE CAR IS PLAINLY A RESTORED EXAMPLE RATHER THAN AN ORIGINAL ONE. THE STANDARD OF THE RESTORATION, ALTHOUGH BY NO MEANS CONCOURS, IS GENERALLY HIGH. WE UNDERSTAND THAT MUCH OF THE RESTORATION WAS CARRIED OUT BY THE OWNER HIMSELF; WHERE THE WORK HAS BEEN FARMED OUT IT IS OUR OPINION THAT THE VENDER’S PRIORITY WAS A GOOD QUALITY JOB RATHER THAN A CHEAP JOB

IF THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT UP TO THE SAME STANDARD AS THE REST OF THE CAR THEN THIS TR6 WOULD BE A VERY GOOD ROAD GOING (AS OPPOSED TO CONCOURS-ENTRY) EXAMPLES THIS INITIAL POOR IMPRESSION LETS THE VEHICLE DOWN - WE OBSERVED MUCH MONEY AND EFFORT EXPENDED IN THOSE NON-VISIBLE AREAS SUCH AS PREPARATION OF THE VEHICLE UNDERSIDE, RUST-PROOFING WORKS, THE FITMENT OF EXPENSIVE SPAX SHOCK ABSORBERS, MOCUL OIL FILTER CONVERSION ETC.

IT IS OUR OPINION THAT THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN USED MUCH SINCE RESTORATION AND MAY REQUIRE FURTHER FETTLING AND OVERCOMING OF TEETHING PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH A FULL RESTORATION BEFORE TROUBLE-FREE MOTORING CAN BE EXPECTED.

WE WOULD ALSO ADVISE ATTENTION TO THOSE FAULTS INDICATED BY THIS REPORT
